Thinking of you, Brian, as I transfer a cassette recording of Halos For Martyrs over to digital. What a wonderful, thoughtful person you were! These songs are so exciting and original. I'm glad we made them. I wish I could give you a call and say how happy these songs make me feel. Looking forward to transferring your solo cassette to digital soon. I'll put it up for a free download somewhere so more people can hear them. Miss you.

Brian was my best friend. we met in a philosophy class and often spent time in debate, watching movies, lying on the hood of my car in the dark communicating without the need of words. Just knowing Brian made me a better person, better academic, better lover of the music between us. I never met Mr. Laetz, but I followed his life through the Internet, with the justifiable hunch we are somehow related. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

Please accept my condolences on Brian's passing. I knew him as a contributor to the aesthetics journal ASAGE, where his intelligence, good humor, and kindness were greatly appreciated. He will be deeply missed.
