Brian was a wonderful man who never hesitated to share his considerable knowledge and experience with all who asked. His loss is great to his family and to all of us. With sincerest condolences, John L Stiles.

I feel so fortunate to have known Brian for even a short time. I didn't realize how much he meant to me until he was gone -- I guess I just expected years more of sporadic conversations over coffee. He was a kind, giving soul and a wonderful mentor to me when I really needed it. I will miss him greatly, and hope to honor his memory in continuing to be a conscientious and caring person in our community. Best wishes and many condolences to his family.

Condolences to Brian's family. He was truly a good guy, funny but serious. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, his family and friends, as you move through the days ahead without him.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Brian died. Although I didn't know him very well, I enjoyed talking with him and his droll sense of humor. This is a tremendous loss to our community. He was a great writer among other things. Sincerest condolences to his family. Thank you Brian for the nice article on Magpie Restaurant and for your patronage. Many will miss you.

Mary, Sally and Roy,

Mary, it seems like only a few years ago that I attended you and Brian's wedding.

I was a college friend and roommate.Brian was the best that I ever had. Brian was also one of my groomsman.

I posted the following at some of the other places that provided opportunities to share thoughts about Brian prior to finding this site.

Brian was comfortable wherever he was and whomever he was with. Whether it was at the Joint or at the Brat Kabin in...

I knew Brian back when we played on an old city league basketball team. He loved to play and wasn't afraid to launch the three. He could hit two or three in a row, just as likely miss several, and some of the guys would get a bit irritated, but it was impossible to not like Brian. He was just too friendly, too enthusiastic. A lot of us had young families back then and I remember how proud he was of his kids. You could tell he was a good dad and loved life.
