Brian Wesley Moores

I knew Brian from the late 1970s until my Aunt Marilyn passed away in 1989, but we stayed in touch. Brian was a father figure to me. He inspired me to pursue distant running and took me to my first organized road races in the Atlanta area in 1979. He helped me get my first job at Old Brick Pit BBQ near Oglethorpe University in 1980 and he took me down to Emory at Oxford University to tour the campus encouraging me to attend. I clearly remember Brian Moores as a younger member of the Belford group at Illinois. He graduated with his Ph. D. there in 1968 and passed in March of 2023, at age 81, same age as me! The summary of his life in his obituary since Illinois, seems to fit what I observed of him in our occasional interactions between our Piper Inorganic Group and the Belford Physical Chemistry group, then not knowing his background.
