Brian got me the gig in "the tap dance kid" pit. Some fun hangs drinking sake martinis after and sometimes between shows. Used to watch some crazy WWF matches into the night, smoking cigars, at his place, across from the Roseland!

He was a first rate professional trumpet player. He played with name bands and in the theater pits in NYC. I played with him as a trumpet section member In the Jazz Legacy Big Band led by David Pruyn. He could play solid lead and good jazz improvisation. It was a pleasure and privilege to work with him.

I´d known Brian since elementary school, but only had seen him once or twice since 1980 or so. A generous friend and outstanding musical talent from a very young age. His life was apparently difficult in his last dozen years or so, and I wish he´d shared more with us.

Loved his Midwest naievity, but more tremendous musicality on an instrument that is often not used in that way

I was so saddened to just learn about Brian´s passing. I liked him very much and was so honored to play in some bands with him and to have him in the trumpet sections of bands I led. He was truly one of the finest players I´ve known. I know he had some difficulties in his later years but I will always think very fondly of him as a person and a wonderful talent.
