Brian O'Shaughnessy Obituary

Brian Joseph O'Shaughnessy, 68 of Presque Isle, WI formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on February 19, 2017. Devoted son of the late Frank and late Anne Marie O'Shaughnessy, cherished brother of Susan (Bob Gerber) O'Shaughnessy, Annemarie T. O'Shaughnessy and Joan O'Shaughnessy, fond uncle of Stephen (Lauren McDonnell) Gerber, Dean (Allison) Eberhardt, Brian Gerber and Elizabeth Gerber, loving great uncle of Daniel and Cole Eberhardt, cousin to many in his "O'Shaughnessy Clan." Before he retired to Presque Isle, Brian spent most of his life in Wilmette and Chicago, IL. He was a graduate of the University of Norte Dame. His life took him along many career paths: former high school teacher, education liaison at the Chicago Tribune, co-owner of "O'Shaughnessy's Take Five" tavern in Chicago, limo driver, real state agent, multiple roles for many years at Campus Painters. Brian had three great loves in his life- nature, music and travel. He immersed himself in these 3 passions and they gave him his great zest for life. As it was Brian's wish , services were held with the immediate family. A private memorial will be held in Presque Isle, WI at a future date.

I´m just reading this after searching for O´Shaughnessy´s Take Five - my late father Mark was the other owner. I´m so sad to hear of Brian´s passing even though it´s 5 years after. Much love

It was always a pleasure to see Brian walk into the Presque Isle Community Library, something he did at least twice a week. He was the source of great conversations about books and movies or the sights in the Upper Peninsula. I am glad I met him. I will miss him greatly.

Although, I didn't know Brian personally, I know how much his family loved him. He was certainly blessed in this way. May he rest in peace and may the memories he left behind bring comfort and peace.
