Officer Petty was a bright light at UDC. We met him 10 years ago. His heart was pure and he made sure we were well protected At each campus, especially PR Harris in SE. He was a gentle giant and a gem! Rest well sir. Erika and Stephanie Poteat

I first met Petty at Friendship Public Charter School, where I taught an evening adult education class. He always made sure I got safely to my car. A few years later, I looked up and he was a uniformed officer on the UDC campusI was delighted to see him, and watched him quickly move up the ranks. He was well-respected on Campus, and I considered him a friend. I am so sorry for your loss. He truly will be missed.
