Brian Todd Powell

Brian Todd Powell, age 44, of Nokesville, Virginia was taken far too suddenly from this world on Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Brian was born August 1, 1965 and died on his 44th birthday. He was a loving husband, father, family member and friend and tragically his life was taken from us and he will be greatly missed. Brian served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Manassas, Virginia where he worked many hours with the children as well as all the other functions he participated in there. Brian worked maintenance at Deer Park Apartments in Manassas, Virginia where he was so well known and liked by his co-workers and tenants. He also worked as a caregiver for persons with disabilities and a farm aide. Any and every spare moment Brian had was spent with his wife and little girl in the outdoors or at church with family and friends. Though his life here on earth will be greatly missed, we know he is waiting for us to join him with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Powell; one brother, Darrell Powell, his grandmother in-law, Norma O'Dell and other grandparents, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, "Marty" Elizabeth Marlene Powell; "Daddy's Girl" Abigail Elizabeth "Abbie" Powell of Nokesville, Virginia; daughter, Billie Jo Powell of Conyers, Georgia; sons, Robert Powell and Ryan Powell of Danville, Illinois; daughters, Stephanie and Sarah Sigafoose of Haskell, New Jersey; his mother, Lula Powell of Danville, Illinois; father and mother- law, Ted and Betsy O'Dell of Nokesville, Virginia; three sisters, Carol Looper of San Rafeal, California, Emily Bencomo of Oakwood, Illinois and Cathy Powell of Bloomington, Illinois; seven brothers, Raymond Powell and Chester Powell, both of Danville, Illinois, Kally Powell of Bloomington, Illinois, Steven Powell, Mark Powell, Kevin Powell and Paul Powell all of Danville, Illinois; brother-in-law, Calvin E. Not sure what to say?

Barbara and Robert Herndon

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

I only know of your family through my dad, Andy. My 2 older boys also knew Brian from "the farm" My kids and my dad only had the most wonderful things to say about Brian. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

On behalf of the staff at Prince William Forest Park, we offer our sincere sympathy and condolences to the family and relatives of Brian Powell.

Marty,

Dr. Lopez called me today in Tennessee to relay the sad news. I remember meeting him at the PWC Fair when IEC had their table set up - he seemed to be such a wonderful man. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Powell Family,

I was at the campgrounds last weekend and was at the lake on Saturday, Brian was in the water with his little girl shooting the water gun at our kids and just really having the best time. I was one of the people who were involved in the search for him and I am deeply saddened by his death. He seemed like a really wonderful man and I am so sorry for your family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers, may God help you get through this.

Carla Coates
