BRIAN READING

I saw the house being cleaned out and didn't see Brian. I came to this sight and found out what I half way expected to find...but hoped it not true. Brian's my age...he's too young to have passed away. I live at the south end of the block. I worked with Brian most of his years at Sears. Some of them at Metcalf and some at the Bannister store. Yes, he was lively, interesting, quirky and knowledgeable with all the facts and stories that he shared. Usually found a solution to any problem...

Brian was a guy that was always ready to lend a hand to help with anything. He had great ideas how to get the job done. He also had a unique sense of humor.

I had told Brian's sister that while blowing out candles inside my fireplace some of the wax had blew back on to my face. Marte repeated the incident to Brian and he gave me a beautiful candle snuffer. I had only met him briefly a couple of times so I was touched by his generosity and kindness.

Brian was a unique individual. He often stopped by to share new "treasures" with me. When I hear the dogs barking at the door I still expect to see the white truck in the drive and Brian at the door, giant mug of tea in his hand.
