Not sure what to say?

Hey buddy I carried a sign with your name on it today in a Memorial Day parade in my hometown of Grants Pass, OR. Somebody in the crowd approached me and said she knows you and your family from a church in Apache Junction. Small world. I hope you're at peace and I hope your family is well.

I still remember the small talk we had. Miss you brother you will never be forgotten.

SSG Hobbs and I worked together in 3rd BDE HHC prior to our deployment. As many others have recounted in ways I could not do any better, he was an exemplary soldier and man in every way. I remember being absolutely stunned when I found out about this tragedy shortly after it happened. It still crushes my soul to remember him and think about this loss to his family. I just want his family to know that people still remember and think about him. Even in the tragedy of the way we left...

It's been some time since you made the ultimate sacrifice brother. Even though we were in different companies we crossed paths a few times and you were cool to me. Your name will be on my body armor this year for the murph challenge alongside a few of our brother bobcats.

Brian, my beloved, I will always miss you and mourn for you. You were and still are, such an impactful part of my life. I thank you deeply for the love and for our children and for how you saw me and treated me. Your kind words still resonate in my soul and have kept me going in some of my darkest hours.

I first met Hoobs, while he was a student of mine at BNCOC. He was a great student. Very calm very smart. He was just a great person. It was funny that we meet again in Hawaii in the same BN. He was again, a good person very hard worker and just a great person to be around. Him and his wife just Good people. The world Lost a very good man when he died. MY prayers go out to him and his family.

Brian and I were in the same platoon at Ft. Campbell back in the late 90's. He and I were both from the Phoenix area and one time when our company was granted leave, I hitched a ride with him and his family back to Arizona. On the drive home we talked all through the night about many things, mostly matters of faith. It was one of the most meaningful conversations I've ever had and I'll never forget it. I'm grateful for the brief time that I had with Brian. He was a heck of a good guy.

rest in peace buddY ur in good hands, when times are tough i think of you and our childhood our innocent laughs,we'll meet again soon my friend, thanks foe ur saferice and may God watch over ur kids, and wife....

We love you, Brian.
