Not sure what to say?

Dear Smith Family,

My name is LCpl Paxton Meyers. I am truly sorry for your loss. As you know I was in Plt. 3016 with your son. He was my guide and a damn good marine. While in boot camp we became very close friends. When I heard what had happened I felt as if I had lost a brother. We were both promoted in boot camp, and your son told in the middle if I kept working has hard as I was it would happen, sure enough it did. Right now I am in Iraq and I know Brian would love to...

Our thoughts and prayers are still with you today.

Doug and family,

We hope you find peace in your memories of Brian. He was an example of what is good in today's young men and you should take pride in the love and guidance you provided.

Our kindest regards,
Chris Mosher and family

To the family of Brian Smith;
I just wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son. Brian was a good friend of mine. I want to thank you for raising such an amazing person. If it wasn't for Brian I wouldn't know where I would be today because he helped me through something that was very difficult for me. I loved your son very much and I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I was looking through the Brian Smith obits tonight, since my son's name was also Brian Smith (he died in May and was a Sgt. in the Marines). Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know the pain you feel, because my heart aches at the same time as yours. If any comfort can come from the deaths of ours sons, it is in knowing that we will see them again, sitting at the feet of our sweet Jesus. Our sons died loving our country, and died in service to our...

I love y'all so much. And I can't tell you how much I admire y'all for how strong each of you have been. I love Brian so much and I always will. I hate that I don't get to see you three as much as I want to, and especially since I moved farther away. Just know that I never ever want to lose touch and I love y'all like I do my own family.

Mr.&Mrs. Smith,
I just found out about your son today from a friend. I just can't even begin to describe how sorry i am about what happened. Brian or "Cooter" as I always called him was one of the best friends that i have ever had. I met him my freshman year at Georgia Southern and i can tell you that i will definitely never forget the times that we had together and the things that we did. He was always there for me when i needed someone to lean on or even just someone to listen to...
