Not sure what to say?

Brian and Pat were old friends of my late parents Don and Antonia Barnes and were frequent visitors to our home. Brian was a kind and thoughtful man of very high integrity. He and Pat were always proud of their family. Condolences to Hillary, Ross and Janet.

Brian, Pat, Hilary, Ross, and Janet were neighbors of ours in Monaghan Avenue in the 1970s. Brian was a colleague in government service and a running mate with Scottish Harriers. He was a great public servant but just as important a good neighbour, workmate, and friend. Our condolences to Hilary, Ross, and Janet. Rob and Colleen Laking

Dear Brian, a man of both wit and wisdom, we were richer for having known you. Helen and Derek Johnston Friends

Lovely guy , great work mate. Ian Sliper

A man a great integrity and decency. I first recall him from Inland Revenue in 1963 where he was a tax inspector, it I recall correctly. I also recall he had a US Harkness or Fulbright Fellowship or something similar - and then went on to his later distinguished career.

A true gentleman remembered with fondness.

Fond memories of Brian over many years. So sorry to hear of his passing. We will be away north on Friday so unable to attend his service.
