Rest in peace my friend.

From a friend

Tom and Deb: you have our prayers and sympathy at this difficult time. Praying for comfort and peace in the days to come.
Jim and Jan Nysse

RIP my friend, thoughts and prayers to your family.

Brian was a fellow platoon commander I worked with in Afghanistan in 2012. He was fearless and rugged. I enjoyed the conversations between engagements we had with insurgents. My prayers are with your family.

Captain Vandenberg lived up to the motto of "No better friend, No worse enemy than a U.S. Marine".

He volunteered to go to Afghanistan a 2nd time so he could use his experience to lead Marines in combat. He did just that and he was respected by his subordinates, peers and seniors alike.

There are men still alive today directly due to his leadership

They will find the streets are guarded

Brian I will forever miss you. When you died you took a piece of me with you. You were truly an amazing person with a huge heart and you will forever be in mine. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Words can't begin to express how very sorry I am.
