Brian won his long battle with cancer on the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2008, when he overcame pain and weakness and slipped quietly into eternity. He was welcomed into the presence of the Lord by his dear late Mother, Betty; and his big Brother, Tom.

An extraordinary musician and...

Not sure what to say?

Well pal I guess your “bonus days” down here have ended. I’m envious though of the “bonus days” you now face riding bikes and playing music with those who have preceded your passing. I’ll always consider your kindness, caring and carefree attitude as guidelines for the remainder of my earthly life. I take heart knowing you are in a better place.

Brian always had a big smile and his lived and loved life to fullest. I remember when he told me while he was fighting cancer that every day was a bonus day.
When Brian and Maureen came to Santa Cruz, Mike Eymann would either cook him dinner or we went to his favorite place to eat clam chowder at Phil’s in Moss Landing (the best). Plus many other great memories.
Maureen you were a saint and did everything to make Brian comfortable while he was with us.

My dear friend Maureen, what a beautiful tribute article about Brian. It captured his gusto for life so well. There are no limitations in Heaven, and we know that Brian has begun a brand new adventure and is undoubtedly enjoying it to the max. Now he is one with the wild endless sky -- just look up on a stormy night and you will hear him roaring past.

Well, the "Donna Inn" in Santa Cruz is still open, but it's now missing one of its favorite, honored guests. Brian, I miss you. Maureen, you're still welcome here any time. We sure had some fun times here in Santa Cruz and of course also over the many, many years in Fresno. How many times have I been to the Old Town Saloon? How many times have I seen and heard Brian play drums at the "Old Brown Spitoon" and numerous other gigs? Brian, I'll see you again if St. Peter lets me through the Pearly...

Brian,

We are so sad to hear of your passing. What great times @ "OLD TOWN." You, Pop & Mom were the best. My husband Keven was one of your bouncers. You let my all girl band practice there in the day while the club was closed. May you rest now with no pain and the admiration of MANY !

Dear Maureen,
My love and prayers are with you . Now Brian is not in pain any more and is at peace.
Pat Bartholomew (Becky's Mom)

Maureen, I'm sure you are glad that Brian is not suffering. I only met you once in corcoran with Joyce but I know you were very special people, Joyce and I have both been where you are now.May god bless you. Gayle

BRIAN WAS SUCH A JOY HE ALWAYS HAD A HUGE SMILE AND KIND WORDS EVERYTIME HE WAS IN OUR FACILITY WE ALL MISS HIM VERY MUCH BUT REMEMBER HIS SPIRIT IT STAYS WITH US EVERYDAY!!!

I played guitar with Brian in the Lodestone band at the Old Town Saloon. He and his family and network of friends took that place from a concept to a success, which I was proud to play a small part in. This was a guy who never let any limitation limit him, he always found a way to get it done. He always gave the audience 100% of his enthusiasm and was a fun guy to gig with. I am truly saddened by his passing. Any old friends of the band feel free to contact me at...
