Dear Deana and Family, Brian was a fantastic man.I had the honor of being his assistant manager at #257. He was a great mentor and I credit him with giving me the knowledge of being a successful manager. He had a passion for everything he did but more importantly he always loved the people around him. I was fortunate to have known Brian, he will be missed but not forgotten. My thoughts are with you.

I'm Mike Barnhart's step-son and Brian was my first store manager when I was hired at the Prospect Longs in 2000. I looked up to him as a strong leader and learned as much as I could while I was there. I'm now an Assistant Manager with Longs/CVS and I know Brian's leadership skills rubbed off on me. I always got jealous when he took the day off to go to a Giants game. I'm a hardcore Giants fan and it was always fun to talk about the orange and black with him.

Deana and Family, Brian was a great guy to work with at Longs at Santa Clara. Your kids were so tiny and he was sooo proud. I had a chance to speak with him a few years back at the Campbell store and to catch up on you and the kids. I looked up to him even though we are the same age. Prayers of support and strength.

Dear Wynne Family, Thank you so very much for sharing your Husband, Dad and Papa with us. He has taught so much to so many. We are extremely fortunate to part of his/your softball family. The Stalker-Alves Family Coach Brian has helped me and given so many hints to improve my game and I'm so grateful for him. Thank you. Kaleigh

Dear Deana and family,
We are so sorry that you have lost the manager of your team. The great stories, descriptions and memories of Brian shared at the vigil and in this guestbook certainly resonate with those of us who worked, competed or socialized with him. Brian's spirited personality always will be remembered. He certainly was brash, but he also could be a soft touch. As the overflow crowd at the vigil indicated, Brian touched the lives of many people in positive ways.
