Not sure what to say?

We were just looking at some old photos of you with our family. It's impossible to forget you Rita. Such a strong Matriarchal Figure & Great Person!

What a good and welcoming lady she was! She always made my children and I feel like part of the family with her hospitality and generosity. I am so sorry she is gone. A light has gone out with her passing. She was a doll!

Mrs. Murphy was the mother of one of my oldest and dearest friends, and best man at my wedding, Timothy Murphy. She worked with my wife, Michelle's Noni at Roberts Bakery on Funston and Irving in The City when I was a boy. Used to love getting bear claws from her after serving Latin Mass at 6:00 some Summer. She was always kind and welcoming to us. Requiescat in pace Rita. Our sympathy to Maureen, Tim, John, Sheila, and Michael.

We remember Mrs. Murphy from growing up with The Rabbitt's on 17th Avenue. She was always good for a free cookie and a warm smile at Robert's bakery on the way home from St. Anne's. Such a sweet lady. Our condolences to the Murphy Family.

We will always remember Aunt Rita's broad smile and quick wit as she warmed us both body and soul with buckets of tea and great stories at her kitchen table. With love and hugs to the whole family.

Rita was an absolute joy to know and an inspiration to all. Rita was my mom's (Kay Rogers – RIP) best friend and they shared enumerable laughs together throughout the years. She had style, grace, wit, wisdom and perseverance – we will never forget you.

My most sincere condolences to the Murphy family.

I'm sure many feel as I did when I heard from Tim that Mrs Murphy had passed away: that one had lost a close family member, even if you weren't a member of her (biological) family. Firm and funny, kind and spirited, she inhabits for me the same constellation as my deceased parents. Brenda and our children Shannon and Johnny join in extending our heartfelt condolences to her family.
