It's been 20 years since I worked with Winnie, at Fireman's Fund. I can still picture her at her desk, quickly finishing up something she was working on so that she could answer a question for you and not keep you waiting. She was always helpful & informative, and a pleasure to work with. She had a beautiful house, loved traveling, & liked Oriental furnishings I recall. I am writing a personal biography and found this item about Don and Winnie and wanted to share it with you. We continued to go to SCCA meetings. There I came to know a lot of his friends. Some of them were Don and Winnie Maslin. Don Maslin had an unusual skill. He could tell by looking at my face that my foot had gone to sleep. I never figured out how he did that.

I was taught the personal lines insurance business by Winnie when I came to the "The Fund" in 1968 as a trainee, fresh out of college and an agent's son-in-law to boot. She was a no nonce instructor with a great heart and sharp wit! We kept in touch through my Father and Mother-in-Laws, C. Lee and Isabel Williams, as they saw Winnie and Don socially over the years and Winnie and Isabel were quite close.
