I'll miss you Britt.

Doug,
I just got word of Brittany's untimely death. I am so sorry. As her Creative Writing teacher for several years, I had the privilege of knowing her inner voice as a teen. She had beautiful voice. She wrote her writing philosophy years ago and I would like to quote a few lines. "My creations are blood and fire, the things I most truly love and despise. The things I find I can't possibly escape.... (Writing is) More than an addiction. It's immortality that will bring me back again and...

The underground became a little more lonely and my heart becomes a bit more empty. You were a great friend and a great caver. My love and friendship to you and Doug always. Never forget you, and will always take you with me while I'm underground.

I am very sorry for your loss. I had just met you two this last fall hiking and riding Collins. I took the pic of you two and your friend that day. I send my best to you and the strength to get through this difficult time. Stay strong, and my deepest sympathies to you and both families.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I still can't even come close to believing it's true. Brit was my partner in crime at work, she was my friend and just a wonderful person. Work will never be the same, I will always miss her and cherish her memory. Please, let me know if you need anything at all, I'll do anything I can to help--I can't imagine what you are going through.

Brittany offered a positive impact on me and, I suspect, every person she met. This is the highest of tragedies -- not least because she will always be thought of with great fondness and regret.

I know we have not seen each other in a few years. But we would like you to know how much we will miss Britt. Your friendship has meant a lot to us, we have often reminisced on times we have spent with you both. They are memories we will continue to cherish.
