50 years later, I still remember the first day that Gabe walked into the cafeteria in St. Joe's. He struck the fear of God in all of us. He was a great educator, motivator and developer of young Christian men. My father had just passed away and Gabe was truly the most influential male in my life. he was a remakable person. Whenever I bang my head, I immediately start reciting Latin. Rosa,Rosae,Rosae, Rosam,Rosa. We will all miss you. You were a once in a life time experience. Rest in peace...

Seems like yesterday we were studying Latin with Brother Gabe at St Joes, WNY; four years too! and who doesn't remember the De La Salle annual drive and the gifts you were awarded at different levels; rest in peace and save me a place next to you at the Lord's table;

Brother Gabriel, I remember those Sunday dinners at John O'Connor's house at West 105th Street in Ascension Parish. I was privileged to meet you again during your years at Manhattan College. You were a beautiful light in our lives.

Brother Gabriel, you taught us the lessons that last a lifetime; to work hard, to reach beyond what we thought possible and to always treat others with dignity and respect. With a firm hand (which I felt more than once!) and a caring heart (that I knew was always there) you set an example for so many young men and woman during our formative years at St. Joe's of the Palisades. You left this world, and specifically my world, a much better place for having been in it. A life well lived! RIP...
