Not sure what to say?

Forever the gentleman, he would wait until we both were through at the anatomy lab at the old GWU medical school on H and 14th ST. and would walk me to home at Columbia Plaza and go back to 1 Washington Circle to his home. He opened doors, let the ladies go first and always had interesting conversations. Then after when he was at Sibley he would always find time to chat. I was mostly at Columbia hospital for women. He exercised, read, took great care of his patients (including my husband on...

For some reason I decided, in 2024, to see if I could locate a wonderful friend I had in the summer of 1959, Bruce Ammerman of Chevy Chase, MD. We were 12 years old, at the National Music Camp, in Interlochen, MI. His nickname was Jeb. I'm not surprised to see how many people loved him. And so disappointed he died so young.

Dr. Ammerman performed lower back surgery on me way back in 1992 at a time when I was having all sorts of problems with my legs. Since the surgery, I have had no pain or recurring issues with my back or leg. A great doctor, a great man.

Dr. Bruce Ammerman was the best. He saved me from life-long pain and was the solution to my back problems. I am forever indebted. He was a friend and my doctor. My last surgery was Jan. 8, 2006 at Sibley Hospital. I was on my feet on Jan. 9th to his surprise. I am now pain free. Thanking him for the advice and our good friendship.

Sincerely, Rick Tristani

Dear Joy, Josh, Matthew & Rebecca;
We are so sorry to hear the shocking loss of Bruce. He was always there for us when we needed him, you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
John, Kitty, Cathy & Ann Gleavy

I just learned of Dr. Bruce's sudden passing today. I am in total shock.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bruce since 1996 after a fall in which I herniated 3 discs in my cervial spine. Dr. Bruce performed surgery on me and brought me back to as he said "80%" of where I was before. Then in 1998 and 2000 I was involved in two rear ended car accidents. Again, he took excellent care of me and he was very honest with me about my prognosis and what could and could not be done for me. I last...

Dr. Ammerman was a "top gun" in my book, having fixed my back problem completely.

My many sympathies for your loss.

Regards,

Michael Armer

In Memory of:
Dr. Bruce J. Ammerman M.D.

Our Deepest Sympathy to you Mrs. Ammerman and Family. I never thought I would be typing about my doctor and good friend Dr. Bruce and his passing. Since I was Hit In The Line of Duty it was Dr. Bruce who has always been there for me for the past 17 years. I nor my brother Keith learned about the passing of Dr. Bruce's for several weeks after. When the news came it was the hardest thing to have to hear. I was beyond shock. I wish there...

To The Ammerman Family:

I was out of the country and I just learned of Dr. Bruce Ammerman's death, I was shocked. My hearfelt and sincere condolences to the entire family. I have been a patient of his for over 20 years, he was a great doctor, kind and gentle person. When my father had back problems I immediately called him and he was able to help him the best he could. He will truly be missed. I will keep you in my prayers and again sorry for such a great loss. I will always...
