Not sure what to say?

Jennifer,
I have been thinking about you a lot lately. I am so sorry about Bruce. I am glad you are with your dad and Stephanie in a beautiful place right now. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

To the wife and family of Bruce Berr, I send my most heartfelt condolences. I just read of his passing today. I never met him, but felt that I knew him from his wonderful articles in The American Music Teacher. His examples of what it means to be a musical human were what I felt made him so special. He was a rare person with a wonderful ability to communicate precisely what he wanted you to learn and contemplate in each article. His insights were invaluable, and I feel helped make me a...

I just heard about the passing of Bruce Berr. I'm very sorry, and I extend my sympathies to his wife and family. I studied with Dr. Berr at Roosevelt and he was a great teacher. I will always remember his kindness and compassion. May he rest in peace.

To the family of Bruce Berr,
Though I never met him, he was my respected colleague-from-afar! I immediately turned to his article on the back page of the American Music Teacher magazine, first thing! It was always on an interesting topic, with his insightful and unique take on the music-teaching world (and the world in general!). I will greatly miss reading his column, and send my deep sympathy to all of you, his family.
Sincerely,
Linda Owen

Dear Jennifer, We are so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am greatly saddened by Bruce's passing. I've always had nothing but admiration for his work, his wit, and his friendliness. I'll miss his columns in the AMT magazine. I always turn to the page with his article first! He found such meaning in the commonplace and treasured even small improvements in his students of all abilities and levels. I will miss his advice, his humor, and his cheerful smile. What a gift he had, and he was so willing to share all that he knew! He'll not be forgotten.

Dear Jennifer,

I am so sorry for your loss. Bruce was the most wonderful colleague, and still had so much to offer. It was fun to talk with him on any piano pedagogical topic I wanted to explore. I'm glad I was able to visit.

I'm thinking of you and send my sincere condolences.

Susanne

I studied with Dr. Berr at Roosevelt University and admired his knowledge of piano literature and piano pedagogy. In addition, he was an excellent composer. I was fortunate to study with him and attend some of his numerous lectures. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Dear Merry and Family of Bruce,

I am so sorry to read of the passing of Bruce. It seems just like yesterday that we were excitedly sharing ideas about pedagogy. That was in the 1990's but I will always remember the many good conversations that we had at Roosevelt. Bruce never seemed to say "no." I had a friend, an elderly piano teacher, whom I introduced to Bruce. She became instantly "converted" to becoming the best piano teacher that she could be! Yet another example of...
