Bruce Marrs Brown
Bruce Marrs Brown, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Born November 23, 1930, in Kansas City Missouri, his parents were Hartley Bruce Brown and Elizabeth Marrs Brown. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics and was a member of Tau Beta Pi. During the Korean War he served as a Nuclear Weapons Officer at Sandia Labs in New Mexico.
He was in the first General Electric three-year management training program. Through his corporate career he served as President of various divisions in the Singer Company and was President of Key Rite Wire and Cable.
While in Oklahoma he began his love of political involvement and served as President of the Oklahoma Young Republicans and worked on several successful campaigns. After being transferred to New York City, he moved to Wilton, Connecticut where he lived for 46 years. He served on the Republican State Finance Committee and was a delegate to the 1976 Republican National Convention. He was very involved with the Wilton Kiwanis Club where he served as President.
In 1977 he married "Nicki" Perkins Manchester, a local banker, who was also involved in local and state politics. Their blended family includes Douglas Bruce Brown and wife, Lucy Brown, Princeville, Kauai Hawaii;' Steven Kelly Brown and wife, Desta Brown, Vancouver Washington, Melissa Ann Brown and husband, Jeremy Mitchell, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Sharon Valerie Brown, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Christine Manchester Hoenig, Penguin, Tasmania, Australia and Sheila Manchester Coniff, Arvada Colorado. He has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a younger brother, Larry Dorsey Brown and his wife, Delphine of Allen's Park, Colorado and sister-in-law, Rachel Perkins Harwell of Lakeside City... He had a deep love for gardening, skiing, tennis, classical music. sailing and fishing with friends in Key West. After retirement they discovered cruising and experienced many amazing trips. Their last trip was canceled because of Covid which would have them visit Antarctica, their seventh continent.
When his wife, "Nicki" retired they relocated to her beloved Texas, where they purchased a home in Lakeside City. His engineering and creative skills were once again put to use as he designed the house renovations. At age 90 he was still working on his landscape plan which was completed before he became ill. He was delighted to discover the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra and the MSU Aiken Music Series. He enjoyed their performances for many years.
The family would like to thank Healing Hands Hospice for its amazing and compassionate care. And thank you to the staff of House of Hope, Evergreen Suite, especially Esther Acheampong, Alyssa Douglas and Lisa Schmidt. For several years, Roxanne Hanson diligently cared for him not only at House of Hope but at home.

charity of your choice.
