Bruce Leonard Byers Passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at his home in Novato on June 14, 2010. He is the son of the late Gilbert and Vivian Byers, also of Novato. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pamela; his sons Steven (Michelle) Byers, Michael (Brianna) Byers, his precious granddaughters Bailee Anne, Morgan Michelle, Alexia Cassandra, and Sofia Yesenia. Also survived by his loving brother Mark Byers and sister Claire Paysse, numerous nieces, nephews and very dear friends. He grew up in Novato and was a member of the first graduating class of Our Lady of Loretto. He went on to graduate from Novato High School in 1969. He married Pamela Varner on March 27, 1971 and remained a devoted husband until he passed. He loved the San Francisco Giants, road-trips, and his home in Dobbins, California. He was actively involved with his boys' team sports. He coached them in Little League. Up until two weeks before his passing, he would attend his granddaughters, Alexia and Sofia's softball games in Petaluma. Bruce will be loved and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A special thank you to Doctor Hjortsvang and the entire Kaiser Oncology staff...and especially Mary Beth. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to kidneycancer.org. Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato, CA 94947. Funeral Services will be held at the church Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Valley Memorial Park, Novato, CA. Online condolences can be made at adobecreekfuneralhome.com.
