I was 5 years old when Bruce enlisted in the US Army Air Force in 1943. He was commissioned as an officer and became a general. My dad was a LTC in the medical corps. I remember when he got his star my dad was amazed and told us proudly about it. And then a second star!! (He joked "it must be easier to get stars in the Air Force than the Army"). Buzz Knoepp
