Dr. Douglas was a bright and energetic force of nature and a friend. I will always remember his rapid paced teaching style and sense of humor. In my opinion, he was the greatest educator that I encountered at UNR. He will be missed!

Dr. Douglas was always my inspiration and mentor in structural and earthquake engineering. I was one of many graduate students at UNR that will always remember Dr. Douglas, as simply the best instructor that ever was.
His passion for structural engineering was contagious to us all.
I have spent almost 50 years performing structural engineering, and I still love it.
