Bruce was one of the educators and friends that I have admired most. He was a gentle, considerate, and compassionate person giving of his time for others. In a quiet way, he was a leader and positive influence on any group. Others have commented on his competitiveness, which I can attest to with the many years we enjoyed bowling together. He would often go early mornings by himself for extra practice to become better. Along with bowling, fishing was a hobby he enjoyed and demonstrated...

Bruce was on the team that hired me to teach Physics at Tigard Senior High School...a choice I will always cherish. He and our mutual friend Alan Rolfe made teaching at Tigard a delight. My condolences to Bruce's family and the Tigard community for our loss.

Bruce was a very important person in my life, first as my Chemistry teacher at Tigard HS in 63-64, unforgettable with his enthusiasm, humor and excitement to share Chemistry knowledge. With Tex Whiteman, he created an Advanced Senior Science class for my senior year with Chemistry and Biology, and sent us off to university with the modern equivalent of AP Chem and AP Bio, a wonderful store of knowledge which made my Freshman year of Chemistry and Human Anatomy a lot easier.
