Bruce Latimer

Bruce and I climbed together, up many peaks in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. We were young, bold, agile, invulnerable and our senses of humor meshed almost seamlessly. Many of the climbs were very challenging and if we had any sense at the time, we would have recognized that we were either (a) immensely talented mountain climbers - our preferred perception or (b) lucky to be alive. I am truly saddened to hear about the passing of Bruce Latimer. He was a very good friend and a special person to me. On all my trips to Cleveland, I always enjoyed my time because of his warm hospitality. I fondly remember staying at his house and the kindness of his wife Cindy, as well as the beautiful piano playing of his daughter Gracie.
