Not sure what to say?

Extremely belated condolences to the Marshall family on the day of Bruce´s birth which just flashed across my mind when I saw the date. You may remember me from high school Bruce and I spent a lot of time together. I remember his kindness, loyalty and dedication to his team and career. He was a wonderful person. Joan Alker

Dear Marshall Family,

A vivid memory I have of Bruce is from a sunny day in the spring of 1981, when after connecting with a Milton Academy pitcher's fastball, Bruce exclaimed "Yes!" as he watched the ball fly out of the park and into the Charles River in left field for a home run. Bruce rounded the bases with the biggest smile- and we all met him at home plate to share in the pure joy of that moment with our beloved friend and teammate.

Mr. and Mrs. Marshall and Steve, I am...

I met Bruce 4 years ago, we became great friends immediately. The one thing I adored about him the most was he always had a smile on his face, and loved to make people feel good, and laugh. He was kind and compassionate, and loved people of all walks of life. He would talk to me endlessly about Matt, Molly, Marissa, and Marikate and how proud he was of all of you. He would talk about how proud he was of you Matt for getting into UVM, and would send me pictures of Molly playing hockey, and...

Dear Marshall family,

I could not believe the incredibly sad news of Bruce's passing when I heard. He was a caring and thoughtful gentlemen that I was happy to call my friend and coach. After graduating, life eventually brought me to Wisconsin and we lost touch. But I will always have lasting memories of him. We lost him much too soon. My family and I send our deepest sympathies and prayers to you in this time of grief and loss.

Dear Marshall Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

I was the UCONN athletic Trainer for UCONN when Bruce played and when he returned as Head Coach. I worked with him daily, traveled with him, and worked summer camps. He truly cared for the student athletes he coached. I saw every aspect of his life for 25 years. He was loyal, and dependable as the sun. Bruce was a lot of things but most of all he was my friend. I shall miss him dearly.
