Saluda, NC - Bruce Allen McLean, 81, of Saluda, NC, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

Bruce was the son of the late Vannoy G. and Ferry A. McLean. Bruce was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He grew up in Asheville and then raised a family in Candler, NC, and later in life moved to Saluda, NC. Bruce was a salesman for Scronce Automotive and retired from Carquest Auto Parts. Bruce was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Allen McLean, Jr. and by his wife, Ruth B. McLean, and grandsons, Eric V. McLean and Andrew L. Kuykendall.

Bruce is survived by sons, Brian McLean and wife, Dana, of Crimora, VA, David McLean and wife, Suzy, of Blacksburg, SC, Matthew McLean and wife, Julie, of Candler, NC, Larry Staton of Saluda, NC who was also his wonderful caregiver; daughter, Theresa Kuykendall and husband, Jim, of Canton, NC; and grandchildren, Anna McLean, Russell McLean, Whitney McLean, Tyler McLean, Angel Holifield and Jeff Holifield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street Chapel with Pastor Richard Merck officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery.
