We knew this day was coming but no matter how much you prepare, you are not ready when it finally happens. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was called to his eternal home early this past Wednesday afternoon, January 27, 2021. He has joined his father and mother,...

Not sure what to say?

It was such a pleasure to meet Bruce ( and Shirley ) at the Gun Lake Chapel. We had so much fun visiting with them at the chapel, their home on the lake, going out for breakfast, and seeing them at the Holland Home. We had many Thursday night or Sunday night phone conversations as we traveled to and from Gun Lake back to our home in Illinois. We will miss his dry humor, his corny jokes, his singing, his prayers, and talking about his love of God and walking streets of gold when he was called...

I met Bruce and Harry in 1970 when I drove one of the fish trucks, delivering fresh fish to markets all over Michigan. I had so much fun working for and with them. My dad then got a job at Superior and he too became fast friends with Bruce, a friendship that lasted until my dad passed. 50 years later, I unretired and returned to Superior and renewed my acquaintance wth Bruce. What a dear friend he had become! My deepest sympathy to the family in your loss. What a legacy he leaves!

Bruce was extraordinary! He smiled, laughed, and loved life with an optimistic charm. He treated people like they were valuable to him and was curious to know your story. Bruce loved Jesus and was evident by his boldness to tell anyone about his Lord. Bruce knew how to put cologne on just right and he was so cool about it, I wear Burberry cologne just like him!! Goodbye for now Bruce we will see you in the celestial city....remember you can cross over that river to the other side...

So sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Osterhaven family~

Bruce was O
ne of kind, I have so many fun memories of him and his jokes, always had a smile for everyone. You'll be missed.
Trish.

Bruce, We were always able to share a bond that transcended the distance between us. I know now how fortunate I was for the time we had during my weekends away from Ann Arbor, your trips to Boston and those too few years my family and I had while we were neighbors in Orlando. You were more than a cousin to my Dad, John “Jack” Osterhaven and Maurice “Mickey” Griffith. I am sure no one that knew you will ever consider a good joke complete without finishing with “Bruce would have liked that...

I met Bruce in 1982 when he gave me a job in selling his fish. A few years later I was good enough at it that he rewarded me and my family with a beautiful trip to Disney World as a bonus. We were at Epcot with 40,000 other people looking for Mickey & Goofy , but who do we run into Bruce & Shirley. We would always disagree every time we met on whose pleasure it was. It was mine
