ROGERS August 14, 1929 - November 20, 2018. For decades, Bruce "Bud" Rogers spent weekends in the picture-perfect, meticulously cared for garden of his West Akron home. Clad in starched canvas work clothes dating to his time in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps and sporting tousled hair that...

Not sure what to say?

My sincere condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one. May prayers strengthen you and memories comfort you, and may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loves us, comfort your hearts and "make you firm". (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17)

I met "Bud" when I went to work at the Summit County Chapter of the American Red Cross in 1983 thru 2003. He was a board member there and at the United Way. He was such a nice, down to earth man. I also saw him at the Akron Symphony and he would remember me. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Bruce and I shared many fine lunches at the Diamond Deli. It was always good to see him, there and about our town. The conversations were such a pleasure! I found him to be a genuine gentleman. Please accept my condolences, for Bruce will be missed.

My condolences to Susie and the family. We live across the street from their home on Keith and I'll always cherish the memories of them living there. Bud was such a smart, kind, gentle man. His presence on the street is still felt there. I miss seeing Bud driving around the yard in his golf cart and working in his gardens, and Susie standing on the front porch keeping an eye on him!

I worked most of my career as a police officer/criminal justice professor, but before that, I worked as a machine designer. In 1962, I worked for Biggs-United, a pressure vessel manufacturer, and one of my biggest accomplishments was the very first Hyperbaric Chamber.

We contacted Bruce for assistance with several key hydraulic components and he signed on with us early on. Bruce was a fine man who could always be called upon to assist with the most difficult of projects, and always...

My heart is broken. We loved Bud for who he was and what he personally did for our family. He brought us here from Philadelphia in 1986 and Patrick's 28 years working at BW Roger's were the most memorable of his career. He often said he would work there until he died if he was allowed. That's exactly what happened. I know Patrick would have been happy to greet Bud and spend time discussing motion control. Thank you Bud, Susie, Rick, and Alita for your contribution to our lives. We love...

Offering our deepest condolences during this time.
