Not sure what to say?

We at the Chattanooga Quaker Meeting will miss our Friend Bruce who made every effort to attend the Sunday meeting. He came in smiling and joking, sat quietly during meeting, and often updated us with stories of his grandsons, speaking with pride at what wonderful young men they are. We miss Bruce and honor his memory. An excellent example of how a Quaker should be in the modern world.

I want to offer my sincere condolences to the Family of Bruce Stewart. My name is Jacqueline Holmes. I have personally not met any of Bruce's family members. Memories of you,Kathleen, your dad, Boyd´s, Almy, Zopf´s and others together for Fri. Nite pizza ! True Guilford times!! I know it was time for your dad to join Rex and others! Love, pat

Correction on my post: spelling of the name of our good friends the MacInnes family!! For Guilford and Abington Friends communities.

Beginning in 1983 when Bruce was encouraged- by the MacGinnis family in Abington and Guilford - to apply for the position of Head of School at Abington Friends, 3 generations of our family experienced a relationship with Bruce that was loving, fun, sometimes challenged by the amazing breadth of his interests but always inspiring and spirit-led. His legacy at AFS, Sidwell, and Guilford and so many other schools, with educators and especially students and colleagues lives on in so many ways....

Bruce left an indelible impression in every setting. A colleague and good friend to many. He made an effort to leave every place a bit better.

What a star ... now shining from the heavens. Thank you Bruce for sharing your boundless energy, kindness and most of all for inspiring us to ethical leadership. We will miss you but take solace in the joy and wisdom your brought us. .
