Not sure what to say?

I am terribly saddened by the loss of Professor Trigger. I was a student of Professor Trigger in the late eighties and was deeply affected by his intellectual rigour. His curiosity seemed driven by humility and profound compassion for human beings. He represented the very best of academia.

I was so sorry to hear of Professor Trigger's death. I was an undergraduate student of his in the 80's and he has inspired me thoughout my career. He was an excellent teacher as well as an unsurpassed archaeological thinker. I hope the affection that he engendered in his colleagues is some comfort to you at this most difficult time

I just wanted to express my deepest condolences about the death of Prof. Bruce G. Trigger. Bruce was a giant in the field who made numerous important contributions to archaeological anthropology. He was the premier historian of the discipline, and I look forward now to reading the 2nd edition of his monumental A History of Archaeological Thought. He was also an incredibly nice man who supported countless younger colleagues and students. He'll be sorely missed by many. My most sincere...

IT IS WITH HEARTS FILLED WITH SADNESS THAT WE OFFER OUR MOST SINCERE SYMPATHY TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AT THIS MOST DIFFICULT TIME IN YOUR LIVES. HE LOVED YOU ALL SO MUCH AND SPOKE OF ALL OF YOU WITH OBVIOUS PRIDE. MAY YOU ALL BE SPARED FURTHER SORROW.
WE SHALL MISS OUR CARING NEXT-DOOR NEIGHBOUR.

FONDLY AND SINCERELY,

To join the growing chorus of voices: a very sad loss indeed. Only the other day I was reading a passage from my well-worn copy of 'A History of Archaeological Thought'. Trigger was probably the greatest Canadian archaeologist of the last century. His work will live on.

I was sad to hear of his passing. Bruce has touched so many and will live on in their hearts and minds.

Dear Mrs Trigger and family;
I send my sincere condolences on the passing of Professor Trigger. I shall always remember with gratitude my experiences as one of his students in anthroplogy and in retracing his steps in Nubia, Egypt. His contributions to the history and understanding of the Native People are received with great appreciation

George W. Miller

Sorry to hear that Bruce has passed away. We were just thinking about him the other day to contact him about his vast knowledge of Iroquois history, particularly about Montreal. He passed on a lot of valuable insights. He will be missed.

Dear Barbara and family:
George and I send our heartfelt condolences to you all. As former Galtonians we fondly remember Bruce from his Preston days, and then later at University (Toronto and Yale. We are just in the process of reading the book "The Archaeology of Bruce Trigger" where his brilliant ideas and warm personality shine through.
Bruce had invited us to Expo '67 shortly after he joined the faculty at McGill and we attach a photo from that event.
In deepest...
