While a student in high school and in college, I often labored under the watchful and occasionally gruff demeanor of Bruce when employed by the school district summer maintenance staff. We students, and some FT employees, dug ditches, planted trees, fertilized, finished concrete, painted, patched, plumbed, and mowed acres and acres of grass at ALL school buildings in the district.
