So sorry to read of Bruce's passing. My heart goes out to the Walton family.
I am the only surviving member of the McLaren family, your former neighbors.

My last recollection of seeing Bruce was with the Walton Family at Jack Murphy Stadium after the Padres clinched a big win for the division in late Sept. of 1998, before their second trip to the world Series. Bruce was there with Bill and other members of the family, high fiving each other, smiling and just enjoying the moment as all of us Padres fans did that day and that season. I played basketball with Bruce at the O.B. Rec. many times and he was always the solid play-maker and decent man. . . a kind and gentle soul who was a solid athlete and an even better human being.

Bruce played football with my brother, Mike Pavich, at UCLA. When I moved to San Diego he helped me secure my first job in the city. Later he assisted me in landing a spot on the Board of the Big Brothers, a role that introduced me to some of my dearest friends. Bruce always brought grace and class to the table when I was with him.

He is already missed,
Matt Pavich

Bruce was the first of the Walton boys I had as students at Helix High School. I am so sad to learn of his death and wish his entire family memories of his good nature. (signed 'Mother Goose) Love to all.

I had the privilege of working with Bruce at KIFM and KCBQ - I called him the "Big Bopper" He was my General Sales Manager at both radio stations in the "FUN" days of radio. Loved his great smile, his great voice, and for teaching me the Manager ropes! My sympathies to his loving family. He will be truly missed. He was one of the GREAT guys in the media industry you'll never see duplicated.
Very sad he is no longer with us and with his family who he loved so very much.

I respected Bruce in the strongest positive way. He was a straight shooter, a compassionate and concerned businessman who also was a Super Bowl champion. He was a stone cold gentleman, honorable, sincere, empathetic and a leader above all. I am saddened he is no longer with us but that feeling is tempered because he dealt with great pain for a long time. He was one of the best of our generation. My deepest sympathies to his family.
