Mid 60's, Mentor High School, chemistry class, Mr. Whann held our attention with his command of the subject matter and his ability to bring that subject matter to life. One of the most talented instructors I had the pleasure of learning from in my academic career. My sincere sympathy to his family.

In going through school we had many different teachers. For some, it was just a job. teaching had good hours, summers off and it paid the rent. But occasionally we'd find ourselves in the presence of greatness-- a Teacher spelled with a capital T. Tremendous! Terrific! Terrifying! Teacher! Mentor had some exceptional Teachers-- especially in the science department. Bruce Whann was certainly the best you could ask for in his field.
