Not sure what to say?

I took a writing class at U of M that Bryan taught in the late 1970s. He had a profound impact on my life, teaching me so much about writing. His smile and kind heart will always be remembered. RIP.

A year! Amazing! And I've been working on a survey of the Yale Class of 1970 for a month, for our 55th reunion. This time, Bryan's voice wouldn't be included - except that every time I work on the questions for the survey, I'm "hearing" Bryan making suggestions. They range from hilarious & curmudgeonly to brillant and insightful. Just as we'd expect. :-)

Dee, so sorry I am contacting you this way...find that I no longer have your address or I would have sent you something more personal. Anyway, I came across Bryan's obit by chance today and I just want you to know how very sorry I am to hear that you lost him That's all. Not much more to say except that I think back on that year in Ann Arbor as a lifetime highlight...meeting such wonderful people including you. And (you don't remember this, I'm sure,) your reaction to a poem I wrote. I...

What an amazing tribute to a truly incredible man. Bryan's genuine kindness will live on in the people he met along the way. I am grateful to have known him. Ginger Claussen

Wow. Had drinks with him nearly every Sunday at the Mo Club, for several years, where he generally drank their fine red wine. A great conversationalist, always entertaining. A "life well lived" no doubt. His Bus Driver stories were, indeed, always entertaining. He enjoyed that!

I did not know of Brian, but I can tell what a wonderful, knowledge and adventure filled, loved man he was by this extraordinarily written obituary. Blessings to his family and friends.

Thanks to Bryan, many of us were able spare our pocket change for only good "dollar" movies at the old Roxy and the Fox. He was a true voice of film insights. In fact, he was alone in saluting Major League Two as the best of the Major League series (just two films in the series). RIP, Bryan. Philip Perszyk

Bryan was and is an inspiration to me. He generously gave me tough, good advice on writing, always cherishing the work. His love of baseball, surfing, a great story, and Dee was abundant. Thanks for being you, Bryan. Love and miss you.
