It is with immeasurable sadness that the Woods family announces the passing of Bryce Collier Woods on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Bryce was born on April 10, 1991 in Camden, Arkansas a town he loved and who certainly loved him. Along with his family, Bryce attended St. Louis Catholic Church where he served as an altar boy and was active in youth activities. In school, Bryce was active in clubs and student council holding several offices. After graduating from Camden Fairview high school in 2009, Bryce attended The University of Arkansas, and just like in school at home in Camden, Bryce would continue to make lifelong friends who he cherished. Bryce was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, a brotherhood of men who he lived alongside and made many special college memories.
Bryce didn’t watch much television unless it was sports. He loved all sports, and especially enjoyed attending live sporting events. He was known to buy a jersey at every game he attended. While in college, Bryce brought a 6ft spoon from his mother’s kitchen and waved it in the stands at the Razorback baseball games every time Tyler Spoon came up to bat. The fans loved it!
After graduating college in 2014, Bryce became a foodservice salesman servicing restaurants in Camden and the southern region of Arkansas. He was a natural having grown up at Woods Place, the family’s restaurant. His success was almost instant, and he won several awards during his career. The key to his success was not only his background in the restaurant business, but it was also his genuine personality, kindness and caring.
Bryce never met a stranger, and he greeted everyone with his trademark smile. His love for people was demonstrated in his actions; Bryce was the eternal cheerleader. When new businesses came to town, he did his part to promote and support them. He cheered on the restaurant community and truly cared about their success. His colleagues and Ben E. Keith clients and a host of Woods Place employees will miss him dearly.
To his friends, family, and the community he was so much more. Bryce could always be counted on for a word of encouragement, he accepted people as they were and had a way of making everyone feel special. You need only look at the outpouring of sadness at his passing to know how much he was loved.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jane Gaughan and Kyle and Verna Woods.
Bryce was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, and uncle and is survived by parents, James and Patty Woods; brother, Weston Woods and wife, Jana; nephews, Cade and Colt Woods; grandfather, Johnny Gaughan all of Camden, AR; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, and his loving dog, Harley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, March 05, 2023 at Maul Road Church of Christ with Johnny Hobbie officiating.
Memorials can be made to The Hub, Camden Connections, and the St. Louis Catholic Church Building Fund.
