Buck Owens

I am so sad that Buck died twenty years ago as just last year I fell under his spell. His beautiful, raw voice, rollicking rhythms, and charming good looks completely won me over. I wish the legend could have lived longer-but I´m sure he will always live on in our hearts.

I loved Bucks music that everytime he played in Oklahoma I made a point to attend. I live in Oklahoma city and got to know everyone in his original band. One time he was playing at the saddle club in Chickasha Oklahoma and me and my girl friend dance near the band, he waived his finger to come near him. He was singing and leaned over to me and said, "you always have you a good looking, don't you". I was a frustrated country at the time and could and still do imitate him. I actually wanted to...

One of my fondest memories of my involvement with country music remains the many Friday (or was it Saturday?) nights spent at the old Fresno Barn where Buck and Don Rich & the gang would play. Other upcoming stars who also played there include Johnny Cash, George Jones and many more. GOOD TIMES!
