Not sure what to say?

Bud was the best coach when he was in Winnipeg. I had the chance to meet
him and he was kind and thoughtful. I was a young football player and he gave me some good advice (play the game, do your best but just enjoy the sport)! He will be missed! Thanks Bud!

Thanks for being a great coach and person. You will ALWAYS be a Viking! God bless you, your family, and friends.

We live in Wisconsin but have been Viking fans. My 2 sons learned about Bud Grant and Purple People Eaters thru my experiences growing up in the twin cities. My youngest son asked if he could skip school to meet Bud Grant on his birthday at his garage sale. Bud signed a few artifacts and was very nice to my son. He enjoyed it s much, we met Bud 3 consecutive years at his garage sale. After this picture my little guy said "Dad - he sure had a strong grip on my neck"

When I worked at Costco many years ago as a “sample lady” he stopped to get a sample. Being a bit naive and not recognizing him I said “ has anyone ever told you that you look like Bud Grant?” He smiled and said “ I hear that quite often”. I went on to tell him what a compliment it was to be compared to Bud Grant. It wasn’t until later I was told that WAS him!!! The following week when he came by I teased him and told him “the gig was up and I knew who he was “!! He came by my cart every week...

Vikings 35-Chiefs 10, 1974, Arrowhead Stadium, I shook his hand after the game, congratulated him for the game & good luck in the playoffs. His team was walking across the field to their locker room after the game.

You & Fran Tarkenton are the reason I became a football fan! After almost 50 years, I am still a Vikings fan! Thanks for the great memories of my childhood!

To excel in many different sports was a great accomplishment. I know the family was and still is very proud of Mr Grant. To the family I offer my condolences.

My dad had season tickets to Met stadium. I was just a kid and he would take me. I watched Bud coach our team , the standing at attention for the National Anthem , Fran Tarkenton and the our defense the front four. We wore snowmobile suits. I will never forget those memories. My dad is now 88 and still watches every year.Thanx for the memories and my condolences to your family.
