After a long and courageous battle against diabetes and kidney disease, Bud Grossman, age 73, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005.
He was born on September 8, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Sidney Grossman and Bertha Salpeter Grossman who have preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Congregation House of Israel and served in the United States Army Special Services as an entertainer and jazz pianist. In addition to playing piano professionally, he enjoyed playing the song "Heart and Soul" with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed life and spending time with his friends and being surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years and the love of his life, Elee Grossman of Hot Springs; three children, Neil Grossman, Linda Selvidge and her husband, Roy, and Sandy Gordon and her husband, Dwayne, all of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Brittney Selvidge, Caitlyn Gordon, and Gavin Gordon; and his first wife and very special friend, Gloria Meneses of Hot Springs.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in the Congregation House of Israel with Rabbi Vicki Hollander officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Jewish Rest Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Pallbearers will be Roy Selvidge, Sr., Dwayne Gordon, Bill Cannon, Robert Hall and Donnie Bykoff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. R. Kyle Roper, Dr. Bobbie Fine, Dr. Timothy Webb, Dr. Marco Canulla, Dr. Brenda Ketcher, Dr. Bob Johnson, dialysis technician John Stevens, the nurses and staff of National Park Medical Center Dialysis Center, the nurses and staff in CCU of St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center, the nurses and staff of Advance Care Hospital, Michelle Albright and Louis Pressburger.
Memorials may be made to the Congregation House of Israel, 300 Quapaw, Hot Springs, AR 71901 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
