Send FlowersPOQUOSON - Buddy Ray Bowman, better known as "Tex," passed away at home Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.
He was born July 1, 1943, in Patrick County, Va., but had been a Peninsula resident since 1963. A painter by trade, Tex could take a set of plans and build a house from the ground up.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mallie Emerson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bowman; two children, daughter, Lindy and son, Jr.; two sisters, Peggy Higgins of Newport News and Carolyn Durvin and husband, Bill of Ridgecrest, Calif.; four grandchildren and many loving friends, since he never met a stranger.
There will be a covered dish memorial from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 1012, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson.

Buddy was a very special man. He will certainly be missed very much. He was a one of a kind. I have comfort knowing he is in a better place with no more pain. I will be praying and thinking of all my family during this time of loss. We love you all.
