Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathy goes out to Burgy's family. I attended OPA Baptist Church and knew the Tomasek family. My Mom, Arline Key was a good friend of Ruth's. I also went to Haley School, but I am a few years older than Burgy. I think I remember that I accompanied Burgy for a trombone solo contest when he was young. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

“I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun.”-- Charles R. Swindoll You will never know how much it hurts to know you are no longer with us. We took for granted the good times we had, and we always expected that another day would come… another chance to get together and create some more happy memories. We came together because of our daughters, but we stayed...

We were saddened to hear of Burgy's death. Our daughters were involved in volleyball, and that is how we met. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

MY CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO THE TOMASEK FAMILY. MISSING THE REUNION LAST SUMMER HURTS MORE NOW THAN BEFORE. I'LL NEVER FORGET BURGEY'S GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. REGARDS JIM GRAY

My children and I offer our condolences to Burgy's family. Not only did 4 of my children attend Carl Sandburg and had him for a teacher, but I also worked in the office there the whole time he worked there. He was always so up beat and such a fun loving person. He will be missed by all.

My condolences to the Tomasek family on the loss of my childhood friend. Every class has a clown and that was Burgy. He was always up to something that would make everyone laugh, even the teacher. It was great to see Burgy at the reunion over the summer. We had talked about my band and he was looking forward to seeing us. A few weeks after our reunion,we had an outdoor parkdistrict gig in Aurora. We had just played our last song and I Looked off the stage and there was Burgy.I just had a gig...

I didn't know Burgy as well as some of his classmates who have written here. I was one of his teachers in either 7th of 8th grade. I did see him at the reunion last summer. May God bless Burgy and his family.

Burgy brought the gift of laughter and the warmth of friendship to our school days and to last summer's Haley reunion. His loss is real because he was real, and none of us who knew him will forget him. Peace be with you.

My heart felt condolences to the Tomasek family. I haven't seen Burgy in many years (I was unable to attend the reunion last August), but thoughts of Burgy have never been far from my mind. When I think about all of my classmates during those formative years who were really more like family than friends, Burgy is at the top of the list. He brought us much joy with his presence then, and the memories for which he is responsible continue to do so. He will be missed, but never forgotten.
