Burtis E. "Bert" Hughes

My sincere condolences to Bert's family and friends for his untimely death.

I met Bert in 7th grade 50 years ago. He was one our group of close friends throughout high school and we remained friends after school. My husband, Bert and a few of his friends travelled around NJ and the shore for the disco scene in the 70s. We had a blast. I lost touch when he moved to FL. I will never forget the great times in school and after.

I am so very sad that his life was cut...

My sincere condolences to Berts family and friends. I went to school with Bert. He always had something nice to say and a great smile. He was my friend and I will miss him. Keeping Bert,his family,and friends in my prayers.

Bert was a good friend and will be missed greatly.

Bert was an integral part of my childhood, as well as my brother's, sister's and all the kids who hung around Slackwood School every summer from morning 'til night. Many fond memories. It's hard to imagine his easy-going manner, humor and light no longer gracing the world.

Was a fellow graduate of Bert's from LHS and we played soccer for the Cardinals. Our team was inducted into the LHS Athletic Hall of Fame - proud to have known Bert for many years. Deepest sympathy to the family.

I went to high school with Bert, first graduating class of (LHS)! I have always enjoyed knowing him. May the love of God surround you during this time of sorrow. You are in our thoughts.

The Hughes family lived next door to us. Ruth, Bert's Mom, was a close friend. Bert's Dad delivered milk and Arlene and Mary were fine people.

We hope Bert's passing was peaceful and wish all the best to his family.
