I first met Burt when I was with
Squadron VC-35 at North Island. I flew with him from North Island to
El Centro for training to prepare
for our Van Team 18 Cruise on the
U.S.S. Valley Forge (CVA-45) to Korea. I was only 18 & Burt was a
young JG and I thought he was a great pilot, but in our older years, he became a good friend.
We have started to feel the loss
already. My condolences
