Not sure what to say?

Dear Aunt Lois,
We were away when my sister mentioned Burt's passing. My brother, sister, and mother (even though her memory is not good now!) all were very sad to hear this news and yet grateful to have had the honor to have known and shared good times with Burt, you and your family. I am glad that we got to see Burt one last time at my dad's burial. My dad was always very fond of Burt and I know they and their fellow Optimists shared many laughs that reverberate today in our memories....

Dear Lois,

The old adage "Better Late than Never" is so important and I bring it to mind because I am in the same position you are. I lost Roz...you lost Burt. Two wonderful people and I am sure you feel the same way I do. One thing about these people, they will both bring to bear wonderful memories and that is the reward of our diligence when we selected them. My fondest hopes for peace and quiet You deserve it.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Lois, it was my honor to play golf with Burt for all those years. A gentleman of gentleman.

Although I could not be with you and your family for your memorial for Burt, you must know how I respective and enjoyed this man. My condolences to you and your family.

My name is Gail Engelman, I am the daughter of Ed and Rose Greenberg. Although, my dad passed away 13 years ago, I still remember him talking about Burt and the fun times they had at Nor-Isle Optimist Meetings and Playing cards. My dad was also a past president and I also remember all the good things the optimist club did for the youth. My mom Rose is 90 years old but is bed ridden and has dimentia. I am sure she would want me to send her condolences to the Sherman Family.
Our prayers...
