Very sorry to hear about Burt's passing. My condolences to Rita and the entire family.

It was an honor to work with Burt on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh. He was special. My deepest sympathy to Rita and his family.

Bert will be missed. He was a true friend to me when my late husband David Small and I moved to New York and after Dave died Bert never forgot his friends and Pittsburgh. May he rest in peace Eileen Small Kweller. My condolences to Rita, Kyla and Michael.

My deepest condolences to Rita and the entire Tansky family. Over the last several years, I had the privilege of getting to know Burt. He was always well-humored, smart, welcoming, and generous. He will be greatly missed. May his memory be a blessing to all of his friends and family.

Burt was a wonderful colleague and friend for many decades. He always went the extra mile with a smile and style. While there are many moments on panels or in negotiations to remember the one that stands out was more personal. A little over 30 years ago, when Burt ran BG, he messengered over dinner plates to my wife to complete a set still on order so she could throw a special diner party. he did it unexpectedly and without asking as our had not arrived yet. All of us who have known Burt and Rita, and their wonderful children, realize that we have lost a true mensch, whose intelligence and professionalism and wit and sincere, warm, engaging, and encouraging personality, will miss him. When Burt asked you how you felt about anything, he always cared about what you had to say.....Our deepest condolences to Rita and to the family.....and to Burt, his family was everything....
