Butch Dixon NINETY SIX -- Arthur C. "Butch" Dixon, III, 62, resident of 2212 Carter Road, husband of Karen Southerland Dixon, died September 12, 2015, at Hospice House. Born January 1, 1953, in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Arthur C. Dixon, Jr. and Virginia Canfield Dixon Tippett. He was formerly employed with Greenwood Mills for more than 35 years and more recently with Piedmont Plastics. He enjoyed very much his golf and archery competition. A member of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church, he was also a member of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class, the Men's Fellowship Group of the church and a former leader of the Royal Rangers, having, for many years, worked with the church youths. A devoted husband for 37 years and a devoted father, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his wife of the home; his stepfather, Ray Tippett of Greenwood; a son, Arthur Steven (Lacey) Dixon of Abbeville; two sisters, Ann (John) Cox and Linda (Bobby) Butler, all of Greenwood; three grandsons, Christopher (Katelyn) Dixon, Bryson Dixon and Caden Dixon. He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Michael Dixon. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Brock and Rev. Ben Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Southerland, Gene Goodman, Craig Southerland, Jimmy Brown, Sam Stewart, Leon Jay, Billy Hollingsworth, Tripp Henderson and Jeremy Davis. Honorary escort will be the Men's Fellowship Group of Ninety Six Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Monday evening and will be at the home on Carter Road at all other times.
