What an amazing man! I grew up down the street from the Youngs in West Jordan. My maiden name is Palmer. By Young was my primary teacher and friend. When I was little he used to let me sit on his lap and drive his car up and down the street. He came to my wedding and always showed so much support to me and my family. He will be deeply missed. I only wished I would have been able to say good bye I look forward to seeing him again.

Byron was a great role model and friend. He hired me when I got out of the army and I was pretty messed up. He was there when I needed him, I have nothing but good to say about him.May his family honor his legacy.

I would like to send my sympathy to Terry and Steven. As boys we were childhood friends. Byron was always someone we could talk to and learn from. We will miss Byron.

Dear Gerd and children, and By. Some 53 years ago, a whole group of young couples moved into a new area of the state called Granger. All were financially close, and before long the homes were filled with wonderful children. We were honored to be part of that wonderfully challenging time of life. We found many things to do we had never done before, Church jobs, school involement with the kids, building projects with the church, a challenge to make a living, and all the things we had...

By was a great person, he was always looking out for those around him. The last time I got to see him we went to dinner and he was so excited to help us find a way to get rid of our rat friends in our yard, He wanted to go right to the store and buy the poison he said was the best. He loved to talk to my husband Dave about the fish he had and the pond it was there favorite thing because they both loved ponds so much. We will miss him so much but i know he is in a good place.

This is Dezeree Young, Cory Youngs wife. We both went to see Byron while he was in the hospital, and I feel like that was the best thing for us to do. He is now at rest with a better place in the heavens above us, and now he is watching over us and will be in no pain at all. Cory and I did let him know that we love him so much and now I believe that he knows that we will miss him. I never really got to know him as much as I would have loved to, and now it hurts me to know of the loss to all...

Dear Gerd and family: We are so sorry to hear of By's death but know it is a blessing. He was a great neighbor and friend. We always worried about him when he climbed the trees and did other things he should not have been doing in his later years, but that was his nature. He was kind hearted and was always willing to help when we had a flat tire, or some other such problem. May the Lord bless and comfort you at this time and always.
