OLDER BROTHER TOM WEKELL- Come this Saturday, it will have been ONE full year since you passed away on May 13, 2022. You are greatly missed here at our North Star Glove Co., but we have picked up the pieces and covered your responsibilities with others from within the 113 year old business plus some outside professional help. We hope to see North Star continue into the future. Brother ROB WEKELL

JOAN & FAMILY- As Tom's younger brother, we grew up in Orting, WA where our father was operating a satellite branch of North Star Glove Co.-Tacoma, WA during WWII until 1963. We had a great "small-town" life there as youngsters, both playing High School sports as well as both being Student Body Presidents. Although Tom spent his first year at Stanford University, we both finished our college years at U.P.S. in Tacoma so we could work in the family "glove" business. We had distinctively different personalities, but that was the basis of our great working relationship in the business (Tom was the financial bookkeeper and I was the outside salesman); we worked together for over 60 years. Tom is sorely missed, but perhaps he is watching over us as he might be sitting on top of one of his favorite mountain peaks that he climbed in years past. May he rest in peace- Brother Rob

Sad to learn of Tom's passing. He was a long-time, loyal supporter of United Way Pierce County and all the causes we lifted up. There is truly no way to measure the impact Tom had, the lives he touched, the burdens he eased, the problems he helped solve. But I can say with certainty it was profound and widespread. Many, many lives made better. All you need is (g)Love! A very heartfelt "Thank you," Tom! You will be missed, but not forgotten.

Tom was a great guy. He believed in me when he allowed me to buy Vinotique. One of the greatest experiences of my life. Thank you Tom.
