To C. Duane Corbett-From Marching Double Diamonds at Lions Football Games to Solo/Ensemble Festivals, and Jazz Band/Orchestra Concerts-
One of the greatest HS Music Teacher/Professors this world has ever known!
With Eternal Love and Gratitude,

The Smith Family- Drum Major Julius '72 (d), Burton '73 MI, Marianne '75 China, and Kenneth, '78 Morocco.

Mr. Corbett taught me music, piano, and flute. I was blessed to be taught by him for seven years. He was my musical mentor. Seven years later, after being taught by college professors, I still remember and apply the skills Mr. Corbett taught me. Thank you, Mr. Corbett. Sincerely,

My deepest condolences. I will always remember having the best Band Leader there is.J W Sexton Big Reds Swing Marching Band. Thanks for all the great memories and your Annointed gift to allow me to be your first Dancing Drum Major. Something I will cherish forever.God Bless!

Saluting Mr. Duane Corbett, my beloved high school Band Director and my very favorite teacher, who touched my life in so many ways. I just learned by happenstance while serching Google of his passing. Even though I missed the service, I salute Mr. Duane Corbett who will always live in my memory and my heart!

My heartfelt condolences to his family!

Mr. Corbett was very patient with me. He was one heckuva musician and we were all awfully proud to be in that Sexton Band. I still have a tendency to go through a crowd and say to anyone who's around, "Coming through -- got the key."

I will never get my years in Band and Orchestra with "DC". He was intensely committed to the band, and no one ever could doubt that he really cared about each band member. He touched many lives.

We all remember Mr. Corbett and band. I was in the band from 59-61 when we went to New York City and Atlantic City for Lions Conventions. Many, many memories of marching band and all the football games. You will be missed.

God bless Mr. Corbett, his family and all his great bands. So many great memories ... thank-you Sir. : )

Echoing my friend and fellow band member Jim Lovitt's commentary, we were among so many blessed to have shared time and space with Mr. Corbett. And yes...that is no hogwash!
